Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, high-quality direct patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation
• Perform advanced nursing assessments and continuous hemodynamic monitoring for critically ill patients
• Communicate clearly and promptly with physicians about changes in patient condition and abnormal diagnostic results
• Respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient status and responses to treatment
• Lead and guide patient and family teaching to support recovery and informed care decisions
• Coordinate and delegate activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining ICU standards of care
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality at all times

Qualifications

• Current and valid state Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required
• PALS and NRP as required by the unit
• Minimum of 1 year experience as a staff RN in an acute care hospital setting, with critical care experience
• CCRN certification preferred
• Ability to complete required compliance items (immunizations or attestations, negative TB, drug screen, background check) within required timeframes

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong competence in ICU and critical care nursing principles and practices
• Proficiency in hemodynamic monitoring and interpretation of diagnostic studies
• Skilled in nursing assessment, clinical decision-making, and implementation of evidence-based interventions
• Effective communication with multidisciplinary teams and with patients/families
• Comfort managing complex, high-acuity patients and responding to emergencies
• Familiarity with documentation, core competencies testing, and skills checklists
