Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-quality critical care to adult ICU patients during day shifts
- Monitor, interpret, and respond to hemodynamic and ventilatory data to keep patients stable
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately, following ICU protocols
- Lead and participate in interdisciplinary rounds and communicate care plans clearly
- Perform timely, accurate documentation in the electronic medical record
- Respond to codes and rapid responses as a confident member of the critical care team
- Complete required competency exams and skills checklists within the mandated timelines
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license verifiable via Nursys (must be current prior to start)
- BLS and ACLS certifications required; PALS and NRP as applicable
- ICU or critical care nursing experience preferred; ability to step into a fast-paced ICU
- Ability to work 12-hour day shifts and weekends as required
- Must meet compliance items: fit test, TB testing, COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, Varicella, Hep B, influenza, Tdap, and drug screen or documented medical/declination records
- Willingness to complete Prime Core Competencies Exam, Prime Skills Checklist, and Prime Specialty Exam
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of critical care monitoring and ventilator management
- Skilled at IV medication administration, titration, and infusion pump management
- Proficient in patient assessment, prioritization, and rapid decision making
- Comfortable responding to codes and managing high-acuity patients
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and handoff skills
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate clinical documentation
