Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality CT scans while following established protocols and safety standards
- Operate CT equipment and adjust settings to obtain optimal diagnostic images
- Ensure patient safety and comfort by explaining procedures and monitoring during scans
- Administer contrast agents when authorized and monitor patients for reactions
- Maintain accurate patient records and imaging documentation in the radiology system
- Collaborate with radiologists, nurses and clinical staff to support patient care
- Adhere to radiation safety practices and infection control procedures
- Participate in competency exams and skills checklists to maintain clinical excellence
Qualifications
- BLS certification (required)
- DCI/BVP certification (required)
- License or certificate verification as required by the facility
- Completion of Prime Core Competencies, Prime Skills Checklist and Prime Specialty Exam
- Successful completion of drug screening, fit test and required immunizations
- Compliance with facility health requirements such as COVID-19 vaccine, TB testing and MMR
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of CT imaging techniques and patient positioning
- Familiarity with CT equipment operation and basic troubleshooting
- Understanding of radiation safety principles and infection control
- Ability to prepare and administer contrast agents when appropriate
- Skilled in patient communication, ensuring comfort and informed consent
- Comfortable documenting and maintaining imaging records accurately
- Team-oriented mindset and ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining clinical competencies
