Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to oncology patients throughout the day
• Administer and monitor chemotherapy and other oncology treatments per protocols and policies
• Perform thorough assessments, document findings, and adjust care plans in collaboration with the care team
• Educate patients and families about treatment plans, side effect management, and supportive resources
• Maintain strict adherence to safety, infection control, and medication administration standards
• Complete required competency exams, specialty checklists, and skills validations in a timely manner
• Ensure compliance with required health screenings, immunizations, and licensure verification prior to and during assignment
• Communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care and transitions

Qualifications

• Active RN license (state verification required prior to start)
• Current BLS required, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications as applicable
• Oncology nursing experience preferred; demonstrated comfort with chemo administration and symptom management
• Per diem/PRN availability and flexibility to pick up shifts during peak coverage periods
• Ability to complete full compliance profile within two weeks of start date
• Successful completion of required competency exams and specialty skills checklist
• Current fit test, TB screening, and required immunizations or documented declinations
• Clear background check and minimum 10-panel drug screen

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of oncology patient care principles and chemotherapy safety
• Proficiency in IV therapy, infusion pumps, and central line care
• Excellent assessment, clinical judgment, and triage skills
• Clear, compassionate patient and family education abilities
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate clinical documentation
• Teamwork, adaptability, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Infection control practices and adherence to PPE protocols
• Ability to pass prime core competency, specialty, and skills exams
