Roles & Responsibilities
- Monitor telemetry continuously and interpret cardiac rhythms to identify changes early
- Perform focused patient assessments and implement nursing interventions promptly
- Administer medications safely and document pharmacologic care accurately
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and update patient care plans
- Provide compassionate patient and family education about conditions and treatments
- Maintain accurate, timely electronic health record documentation and handoffs
- Participate in required skills checks, competency exams, and unit-specific training
- Support unit flow by floating to MedSurg or other departments as needed
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license with Nursys verification required
- Current BLS certification
- DCI/BVP certification required
- Proven telemetry monitoring experience; cardiac rhythm interpretation skills
- Medical-Surgical experience preferred
- Completion of required Prime exams and skills checklist (basic pharmacology, rhythm interpretation, core competencies, specialty exam)
- Up-to-date immunizations and health screenings as listed (COVID-19, MMR, TB, Hep B, Varicella, Tdap, influenza, drug screen, fit test)
Knowledge & Skills
- Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation
- Medication administration and basic pharmacology knowledge
- Strong patient assessment and clinical judgment
- Proficient documentation in electronic health records
- Infection control practices and occupational health compliance
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to prioritize and respond to acute changes in patient condition
