Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide safe, effective anesthesia care for patients across perioperative settings
- Assess patients pre-operatively and develop individualized anesthesia plans
- Administer anesthesia and monitor physiologic status throughout procedures
- Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and perioperative staff to optimize outcomes
- Manage airway and emergent scenarios with confidence and composure
- Document anesthesia care accurately and comply with hospital policies and regulations
- Participate in quality improvement, safety initiatives, and peer learning
Qualifications
- Active CRNA certification and current state license (or eligibility) — California license preferred
- BLS certification required
- DCI/BVP certification as listed in the order requirements
- Successful license/certificate verification prior to start
- Completion of required competency exams and specialty checklists (Prime Core Competencies, Prime Skills, Prime Specialty Exam)
- Ability to pass required health screenings and immunizations (COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, Hepatitis B, Influenza, TB test, Varicella, Tdap, drug screen, fit test, color-blind test, physical/health statement)
Education
- Graduate degree in Nurse Anesthesia (Master's or Doctoral degree such as MSN or DNP) — required for CRNA practice
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong clinical judgment in anesthesia techniques and perioperative care
- Proficiency in airway management and resuscitation skills
- Excellent patient assessment and monitoring capabilities
- Clear, collaborative communication with surgical teams and nursing staff
- Familiarity with anesthesia documentation and electronic medical records
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced operating room environment
