Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Rotating day and night shifts including weekdays and weekends: 8- and 12-hour options (06:30 AM - 03:00 PM; 06:30 AM - 07:00 PM; 06:30 PM - 07:00 AM). Self-scheduling, cyclic schedule with weekly 1-4 hour post-shift call and weekend call rotation (Fri evening to Sun evening about every 5 weeks).

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide expert perioperative nursing care for patients of all ages, including Level 1 trauma cases
- Prepare the OR and surgical team for a wide variety of procedures from general surgery to neurosurgery and trauma plastics
- Monitor intraoperative patient status and intervene as needed to maintain safety and positive outcomes
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and OR techs to ensure seamless case flow
- Use EPIC to accurately document patient care and maintain clear, timely communication
- Support and mentor team members during high-acuity cases and emergency pediatric presentations
- Participate in required orientation, skills validation, and the open-book exam during onboarding
Qualifications
- Active RN license (eligible to work in Nebraska required at submission)
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience; MUST have Level 1 trauma experience
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Proven perioperative/OR experience across multiple service lines
- Comfortable with advanced surgical platforms (robotics, O-arm, Stealth) and high-acuity cases
- Driver's license required at time of submission (radius rule: within 50 miles)
- Willingness to complete a pass/fail orientation exam and meet the 90% pass requirement
Education
- Active RN license required
- Associate degree/diploma or BSN accepted (BSN not required)
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong perioperative nursing skills including surgical case management and intraoperative monitoring
- Experience with trauma protocols and high-acuity patient management
- Familiarity with EPIC charting and documentation workflows
- Comfortable assisting in robotic (DaVinci) and advanced imaging-guided procedures
- Skilled in a broad range of specialties: ortho, neuro, ENT, thoracic, GYN/OB, GU, plastics, endoscopy
- Ability to work independently and as part of a rapid-response OR team
