Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care on an MS/Telemetry unit with attention to safety and clinical best practices
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, responding promptly to dysrhythmias and activating Rapid Response/Code teams as needed
• Manage IV lines and central/PICC access; administer blood products and titrate medications per protocols
• Perform complex bedside care including chest tube, feeding tube and wound/Vac management
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (PT, RT, pharmacy, social work) to create and execute patient care plans
• Document accurately and efficiently in Epic to ensure continuity of care and clear communication
• Float within scope to similar units when needed, contributing flexibility and teamwork to meet patient needs

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina (pending licenses are not accepted)
• Minimum ~2 years MS/Telemetry experience (telemetry experience required)
• Current BLS and ACLS required; NIHSS required
• Comfortable with Epic charting and unit-based telemetry monitoring
• Experience with IV therapy, central/PICC line care, and cardiac monitoring
• Ability to work rotating schedules including every-other-weekend coverage
• First-time travel RNs are welcome — the team supports travelers

Education

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina required

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation (on-unit and remote monitoring)
• Medical-surgical nursing fundamentals with telemetry focus (MS/Tele)
• Epic electronic charting and clinical documentation
• IV therapy: starting/maintaining IVs, peripheral and central line care, PICC management
• Chest tube care and management of drains (Emerson/PleurEvac)
• High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), CPAP/BIPAP and other respiratory support
• Feeding tube care and wound care/Wound Vac experience
• Rapid Response and Code team participation; emergency cardiac management
• Familiarity with neurosurgical care (craniotomy, lumbar drains) and trauma patients
• Comfort caring for adult and geriatric populations in an acute care setting
