Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist the Occupational Therapist in implementing individualized treatment plans to maximize functional independence
- Provide skilled therapy focused on improving daily living skills and patient outcomes
- Document therapy sessions and patient progress accurately and in a timely manner
- Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and the care team to support coordinated, quality care
- Educate patients and families on exercises, safety techniques, and practical adaptive strategies
- Maintain clean, organized, and compliant treatment areas to ensure patient and staff safety
- Adhere to facility policies and state regulations to maintain the highest standards of care
Qualifications
- Active California COTA license required
- Prior SNF or rehab experience preferred
- Strong communication and clinical documentation skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Availability for the full 13-week contract assignment
Education
- Completion of an accredited COTA program (associate degree or certificate) and active California COTA license
Knowledge & Skills
- Occupational therapy principles and practical intervention techniques
- Skilled patient care in skilled nursing and rehab settings
- Accurate clinical documentation and charting
- Clear, compassionate communication with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
- Ability to follow treatment plans and assist with therapeutic activities
