Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality adult and geriatric nursing care across Medical-Surgical units
• Float to assigned MS units including cardiology, ortho, surgical, neuro and oncology to meet patient needs
• Monitor and interpret telemetry and respond to cardiac changes promptly
• Perform vascular access skills including IV insertion and PICC/central line care
• Manage specialty pumps and devices including PCA/epidural pumps, IV pumps and wound VACs
• Support airway care needs including CPAP/BiPAP and trach care
• Deliver safe orthopedics care (traction, CPM) and feeding tube management when indicated
• Collaborate with the care team to maintain safe nurse-to-patient ratios and escalate concerns appropriately

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) credential required
• Float Pool or Medical-Surgical nursing experience (able to work across multiple MS specialties)
• Proven skills in IV insertion, PICC/central line management and vascular access care
• Telemetry experience and rhythm interpretation
• Experience with PCA/epidural pumps, IV pumps, wound VACs and feeding tube care
• Airway management experience including CPAP/BiPAP and trach care
• Comfort managing orthopedics needs (traction, CPM) and working with adult/geriatric populations
• Current CEU documentation required during compliance process
• Willingness to work night shifts and accept assigned patient ratios (typically 1:6; may require 1:8)

• Telemetry and remote telemonitoring
• IV therapy and vascular access (IV insertion, PICC/central line care)
• PCA and epidural pump management
• Wound VAC care and feeding tube management
• Orthopedic care: traction and CPM familiarity
• Airway skills: CPAP/BiPAP and tracheostomy care
• Use of common equipment: IV pumps, SCDs, patient lifts, gait belts and CO2 monitoring
• Ability to manage acuity and multiple priorities in a fast-paced 32-bed unit
