Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality perioperative nursing care to adult and pediatric surgical patients
• Prepare and maintain the sterile field and surgical instrumentation for a variety of procedures
• Assist surgeons and the surgical team during operative procedures with focus and precision
• Monitor patient status, document care and communicate changes promptly to the team
• Perform surgical counts, ensure compliance with safety protocols, and contribute to a culture of safety
• Collaborate with anesthesia, surgeons, and perioperative staff to coordinate efficient patient flow
• Participate in pre-operative and post-operative patient education and handoffs

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) with active license in Colorado or compact RN licensure
• Minimum 2 years of Operating Room (OR) nursing experience
• Comfortable with perioperative instrumentation and sterile technique
• Strong teamwork, communication, and critical-thinking skills
• CNOR certification or perioperative specialty training is a plus

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN). BSN preferred.

Knowledge & Skills

• Perioperative nursing principles and sterile technique
• Surgical instrumentation familiarity and setup
• Intraoperative patient monitoring and assessment
• Effective documentation and electronic medical record (EMR) use
• Strong situational awareness and ability to prioritize in fast-paced OR settings
• Clear, professional communication with multi-disciplinary teams
