Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality respiratory care and treatment for patients with respiratory insufficiencies, asthma, pneumonia and emphysema
- Manage ventilators and titrate support using Servo I, Hamilton, V60 and Astral ventilator platforms
- Perform and interpret arterial blood gases (ABG analysis) and adjust therapy accordingly
- Deliver CPAP/BiPAP and nebulizer therapies and evaluate patient response
- Respond to respiratory emergencies and participate in code situations alongside interdisciplinary teams
- Document patient care accurately in Meditech and communicate clinical findings to physicians and nursing staff
- Participate in unit quality initiatives and contribute to a team-focused, patient-centered environment
Qualifications
- Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
- BLS, ACLS and NRP certifications required prior to assignment
- Minimum 2 years of recent acute care hospital RRT experience
- Comfortable with critical/acute care patient populations and high-volume procedure environments
- Trauma experience preferred
- Previous Meditech EMR experience preferred
- Demonstrated ventilator management experience (Servo I, Hamilton, V60, Astral preferred)
Knowledge & Skills
- Ventilator management and troubleshooting (Servo I, Hamilton, V60, Astral)
- ABG analysis and interpretation
- CPAP and BiPAP setup and management
- Nebulizer therapy administration
- Critical and acute care workflows and procedures
- Familiarity with CPT and respiratory procedures
- Experience documenting in Meditech or similar EMRs
- Strong critical thinking, teamwork and physician collaboration skills
