Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide patient-centered occupational therapy evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans
- Deliver skilled OT interventions in the acute care setting and while floating to inpatient rehab
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, PTs, SLPs, social work, and care teams to coordinate safe, effective care
- Document progress, discharge planning, and skilled need clearly and timely in the medical record
- Coach patients and families on functional strategies, adaptive equipment, and safe discharge recommendations
- Participate in unit-based meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Current Oklahoma occupational therapy license or ability to obtain state licensure quickly
- OTR/L credential (NBCOT) required or in progress
- Experience or comfort working in acute care and inpatient rehabilitation environments
- Current BLS/CPR certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
- Strong clinical reasoning, documentation skills, and ability to float between units
- Comfortable following facility dress code (scrubs or khaki pants with a red polo as noted)
Education
- Degree in Occupational Therapy (MOT or OTD) or equivalent preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in functional assessments, ADL training, and discharge planning
- Knowledge of adaptive equipment, splinting basics, and compensatory strategies
- Excellent interdisciplinary communication and patient/family education skills
- Familiarity with acute care workflows and inpatient rehab protocols
- Efficient documentation with attention to regulatory and payer requirements
