Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency nursing care for a high-volume ED, managing trauma, stroke and acute cardiac patients
• Perform rapid assessment and triage to prioritize patient needs in a fast-paced environment
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and manage cardiac monitoring equipment with attention to detail
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently in Cerner to maintain continuity of care
• Administer and manage medications and infusions using Baxter pumps according to protocols
• Coach and mentor team members, offering constructive feedback in real time to improve outcomes
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support patient flow and ensure respectful patient experience using AIDET principles
• Adapt to floating across ED sections while maintaining safe patient ratios and high standards of care

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license (state credential required prior to start)
• Minimum 2 years nursing experience, with at least 1 year in an ER setting
• Experience in a Level 2 trauma center, comprehensive stroke center or a high-volume ED (>100,000 visits) preferred
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required before start
• PALS, TNCC, CPI and NIHSS required before start; ENPC to be completed within 90 days of hire
• Comfortable providing coaching and real-time feedback and working as part of a collaborative team

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong emergency and trauma nursing skills including stroke and cardiac care
• Proficiency with Cerner documentation and electronic charting
• Experience with Baxter infusion pumps and GE monitoring systems
• Skilled at rapid assessment, triage and prioritization in high-volume settings
• Ability to maintain calm under pressure and deliver respectful patient-centered care
• Familiarity with ED workflows, patient ratios and floating across ED sections
• Excellent communication skills for patient updates and board management
• Team leadership and coaching abilities to support staff development
