Shift Type: Night shift (specific days vary), 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM — nights and overnight coverage (schedule may include weekends)
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $42 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide expert respiratory care for Level 3 NICU patients, including ventilator management
- Attend high-risk deliveries and provide immediate neonatal respiratory support
- Manage conventional and high frequency oscillatory ventilation safely and effectively
- Perform blood gas acquisition and interpretation to guide clinical decisions
- Administer therapies such as surfactant and nitric oxide per unit protocols
- Operate and troubleshoot NICU equipment including Drager VN500 ventilators and 3100A oscillators
- Document care thoroughly in Meditech and NeoNotes and communicate clearly with the neonatal care team
- Contribute to a positive, detail-oriented unit culture and support colleagues during peak volumes
Qualifications
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential — required
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification — required
- Level 3 NICU experience preferred; will consider 3–5 years Level 2 NICU experience as an alternative
- Minimum clinical experience indicated on the posting: 1 year (see note above regarding NICU level)
- Familiarity with high frequency oscillatory ventilation, ventilator management, and blood gas interpretation
- Experience with NICU equipment: Drager VN500, 3100A Oscillators, Vapotherm, and nitric oxide delivery systems
- EMR experience with Meditech and NeoNotes is a plus
- Strong critical thinking, independent decision-making, and attention to detail
Knowledge & Skills
- In-depth knowledge of neonatal respiratory physiology and ventilator strategies
- Skilled in blood gas acquisition and interpretation to guide therapy
- Competent with conventional and high frequency oscillatory ventilation
- Comfortable administering surfactant and nitric oxide per protocol
- Experience with NICU respiratory devices such as Drager VN500 and 3100A oscillators
- Proficient documentation skills in Meditech and NeoNotes
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills in high-acuity neonatal settings
