Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-acuity nursing care in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit with expertise and compassion
• Manage ventilators and optimize respiratory support for complex postoperative and cardiac patients
• Perform continuous hemodynamic monitoring, including Swan-Ganz management and interpretation
• Care for invasive lines and devices: arterial lines, central lines, chest tubes, Impella and CRRT assistance
• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient-centered care plans
• Document care accurately and efficiently in Meditech to ensure continuity and safety
• Educate patients and families about procedures, recovery expectations, and discharge planning
• Act as a team player supporting colleagues across Medical ICU, Neuro Surgical ICU, and Cardiac PCU when needed

Qualifications

• Active RN license (required)
• Minimum 2 years of adult critical care experience (CVICU, ICU, Neuro ICU or other critical care specialties)
• Strong ventilator management experience and confidence with art/central line and chest tube care
• Experience with hemodynamic monitoring and device-assisted therapies (Swan-Ganz, CRRT, Impella preferred)
• Comfortable working a 2:1 patient ratio in a high-acuity cardiac unit
• Meditech EMR experience preferred
• BSN and CCRN are nice-to-have credentials

Education

• Active RN license required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Ventilator management and respiratory support strategies
• Hemodynamic monitoring and interpretation of Swan-Ganz data
• Insertion site and line management for arterial and central lines
• Chest tube assessment and troubleshooting
• Familiarity with CRRT and Impella devices
• Proficient documentation in Meditech
• Strong critical thinking, situational awareness, and teamwork skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
