Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-family centered emergency nursing care
• Perform rapid and accurate patient assessments and triage in the ED
• Initiate emergency interventions and stabilize patients as needed
• Communicate clearly with the interdisciplinary care team and families
• Document patient care thoroughly and maintain confidentiality
• Make timely clinical decisions and act independently in high-pressure situations
• Support the hospital mission, vision, and values through professional practice

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure in the State of Maine, or authorization pending endorsement
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• BCLS current
• ACLS current
• PALS current (to be current within six months of hire date)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience preferred, especially in emergency nursing
• Ability to function independently and make rapid decisions in emergencies

Education

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong patient assessment and triage skills
• Emergency care expertise and familiarity with ED workflows
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Accurate and timely clinical documentation
• Comfortable with clinical computers and electronic health records
• Ability to work collaboratively with the care team and families
