Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, high-quality cardiac and critical care nursing for CCU/ICU patients
• Monitor and interpret hemodynamic data and PA catheter readings to guide care
• Manage advanced mechanical circulatory support devices (IABP, Impella) and collaborate with providers on cardiogenic shock cases
• Perform and assist with procedures common to the unit: central line insertion care, Swan-Ganz management, and intubations
• Provide continuous telemetry monitoring and rapid intervention for arrhythmias or instability
• Document patient care accurately in Meditech and communicate handoffs clearly
• Work as an active member of the team — participate in unit initiatives like the Nurse Practice Council

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted RN license for Tennessee (or compact state eligibility)
• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU/CCU or critical care nursing experience
• ACLS required; BLS required
• Experience with hemodynamic monitoring and PA catheter management
• Familiarity with IABP and Impella management; experience with CRRT is a plus
• Comfort with telemetry monitoring, ventilator/airway support and intubation care
• Proficiency with electronic documentation (Meditech preferred)
• Ability to work a 12-hour night rotation and meet weekend scheduling requirements

• Cardiac critical care principles and hemodynamic assessment
• Telemetry monitoring and arrhythmia recognition
• PA catheter (Swan-Ganz) interpretation and care
• Management of mechanical circulatory support: IABP and Impella
• Central line care and familiarity with central line procedures
• Airway management support and post-intubation care
• Clinical documentation in Meditech and effective interdisciplinary communication
• Adaptability to float and support unit needs based on census
