Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate and skilled occupational therapy care under the supervising therapist to help patients regain independence
• Assist in implementing individualized treatment plans and therapeutic interventions
• Monitor and document patient progress accurately and timely in clinical records
• Collaborate with therapists, nurses, and other care team members to coordinate patient care
• Educate patients and families on adaptive strategies, home programs, and safe functional techniques
• Maintain and prepare therapy equipment and treatment areas to ensure patient safety and readiness

Qualifications

• Current COTA credential (Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant) required
• Active authorization to practice in California (state registration/licensure as applicable)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Clear background check and up-to-date immunizations as required by client
• Comfortable working day shifts and collaborating in a multidisciplinary team
• Professional communication skills and a positive, patient-centered attitude

Education

• Associate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program or equivalent
• Completion of COTA certification program

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of occupational therapy principles and intervention techniques
• Skilled in patient handling, adaptive equipment, and functional task training
• Proficient documentation practices and attention to detail
• Strong interpersonal skills for patient and family education
• Ability to follow treatment plans and adapt interventions to individual needs
• Time management and organizational skills to handle caseload efficiently
