Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert, compassionate nursing care to NICU infants from 22 weeks to term
• Manage complex IV therapy and TPN administration with strong IV skills
• Monitor and interpret neonatal telemetry and collaborate with NNPs and physicians for arrhythmia confirmation
• Care for ventilated neonates using high frequency ventilation, Draeger ventilators, NAVA and Nitric Oxide when indicated
• Perform safe couplet care and float to postpartum or pediatrics as assigned
• Document accurately in Cerner and use HUGS and the Breast Milk Bridge module for safe breastmilk handling
• Participate in unit safety practices and follow ICU-level ratios while prioritizing family-centered care

Qualifications

• Active RN license eligible to practice in California
• Minimum 2 years of NICU experience (Level 3 experience strongly preferred)
• Cerner EMR experience is required
• Current BLS, NRP, and PALS certifications
• Demonstrated proficiency with IV therapy and TPN management
• Comfortable caring for high-acuity preemies, sepsis, respiratory failure, and substance-exposed newborns
• Willingness to float to pediatrics and postpartum and provide couplet care

Education

• Nursing diploma or ADN accepted; BSN preferred but not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Hands-on experience with Cerner, HUGS, and Breast Milk Bridge scanning workflows
• Familiarity with Phillips monitoring systems and bedside arrhythmia recognition
• Experience with Medifusion and Alaris syringe pump technologies
• Knowledge of high frequency ventilation, Draeger ventilators, NAVA ventilation, and Nitric Oxide therapy
• Strong neonatal assessment, family communication, and critical thinking skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume NICU with frequent IV and ventilator management needs
