Roles & Responsibilities

• Circulate and support advanced endoscopy procedures such as EUS and ERCP with confidence and precision
• Provide safe, patient-centered peri-procedural nursing care in an acute Endo/GI lab
• Collaborate with physicians, techs, and the care team to maintain efficient case flow
• Maintain accurate EPIC charting and complete documentation in a timely manner
• Perform pre-procedure assessments and post-procedure monitoring to ensure excellent outcomes
• Adhere to unit infection control and fingernail policies to protect patient safety
• Participate in orientation and skills validation, including the required open-book exam

Qualifications

• Active RN license (required)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience (Endoscopy/GI experience strongly preferred)
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications (required)
• Strong circulating and teching experience for advanced procedures (EUS, ERCP)
• Familiarity with EPIC charting; note whether EPIC use within 6 months for orientation planning
• Willingness to complete required orientation and pass the skills exam (90% pass required)
• Ability to comply with facility policies (e.g., no artificial nails) and pre-hire documentation (DOB, SSN, immunization status, etc.)
• Availability for required RTO timeframe as specified in the assignment paperwork

Education

• Nursing degree (Associate, Diploma or BSN) — BSN not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Hands-on knowledge of endoscopy/GI procedural workflows
• Proven circulating skills and peri-procedural patient management
• Competence with advanced procedures like EUS and ERCP
• Proficient EPIC documentation and electronic charting skills
• Strong communication and teamwork in fast-paced acute care settings
• Infection control practices and acute patient monitoring
