Roles & Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough occupational therapy evaluations and create individualized treatment plans
- Provide skilled therapeutic interventions to help patients regain independence
- Collaborate with nurses, PTs, SLPs and the broader care team to coordinate patient-centered care
- Document patient progress clearly and timely in the medical record
- Educate patients and caregivers on strategies, adaptive equipment and home programs
- Participate in discharge planning to ensure safe transitions and continued care
Qualifications
- Active California Occupational Therapist license or eligibility to obtain licensure
- Graduation from an accredited occupational therapy program
- Current basic life support CPR certification or willingness to obtain
- Comfortable with documentation and electronic medical records
- Strong communication and teamwork skills; travel assignment experience is a plus
- Willingness to pursue temp-to-perm transition if desired
Education
- Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program (Bachelor, Master or OTD as required for licensure)
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in OT assessments and interventions across adult care settings
- Knowledge of adaptive equipment, splinting basics and functional mobility strategies
- Ability to develop practical home programs and caregiver training
- Solid clinical reasoning, time management and documentation skills
- Comfort working within interdisciplinary teams and following facility protocols
