Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency nursing care to patients across the lifespan with compassion and clinical skill
• Perform rapid triage and initial assessment to prioritize care in a fast-paced ED environment
• Administer medications, IV therapy and emergency interventions according to protocols
• Collaborate closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, and the ED team to coordinate patient care
• Monitor patient status continuously and escalate concerns promptly to ensure safe outcomes
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the medical record and support smooth patient throughput
• Participate in required competency testing, skills checklists and specialty training to keep skills sharp
• Support unit readiness for holidays and weekend coverage as part of the rotating schedule

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license (license/certificate verification required)
• Certifications required: BLS, PALS, ACLS, TNCC, NIHSS
• Completion of Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and Trinity Skills Checklist as part of onboarding
• Required personal health screenings and immunizations as listed (e.g., TB screening, MMR, Hepatitis B, COVID-19, influenza)
• Comfort working in a high-acuity emergency room setting and collaborating in a team environment

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong emergency assessment and triage skills
• Experience with trauma care fundamentals and rapid stabilization
• Neurological assessment skills including NIHSS familiarity
• Ability to administer and monitor critical medications and IV therapies
• Clear, efficient communication and teamwork under pressure
• Proficient documentation practices and adherence to hospital policies
