Roles & Responsibilities

• Scrub assist on invasive cardiology procedures including STEMI, NSTEMI, structural heart, peripheral interventions, and pacemaker insertions
• Operate and troubleshoot Philips x-ray systems and MacLab hemodynamics equipment during procedures
• Prepare and manage cath lab instrumentation including IABP, Impella, and Rotapro devices
• Provide timely, high-quality patient monitoring and maintain sterile technique throughout cases
• Document procedures and patient care accurately in EPIC EHR and complete required orientation documentation
• Cover call across two hospitals when scheduled and respond to calls within the 30-minute response window
• Collaborate with the cath lab team, RNs, and physicians to streamline case flow and support emergent needs
• Participate in unit-specific orientation and ongoing quality and safety initiatives

Qualifications

• RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist) via CCI required
• BLS (AHA) and ACLS (AHA) required
• Minimum 2 years of cath lab / invasive cardiology experience
• Hands-on experience with IABP, Impella, and Rotapro is a must
• Familiarity with EPIC EHR, Philips x-ray, and MacLab hemodynamics
• Willingness to cover call (weeknights and weekends) and travel within a 60-mile radius; valid driver’s license required
• Available to be in-state for the week of orientation and complete 12 hours of orientation

Education

• RCIS certification (via CCI) required
• BLS (AHA) and ACLS (AHA) certifications required
• Formal training in cardiovascular technology or equivalent clinical experience preferred
• No BSN required

Knowledge & Skills

• Cath lab procedures and scrub assist techniques
• Invasive cardiology workflows and device support (IABP, Impella, Rotapro)
• Hemodynamic monitoring and interpretation using MacLab
• Proficiency with EPIC EHR documentation
• Operation of Philips x-ray imaging systems
• Strong sterile technique and attention to patient safety
• Rapid response capability for STEMI and other emergent cases
• Team communication and coordination across two-hospital coverage
