Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered medical-surgical nursing care that promotes healing and dignity
• Perform thorough assessments, create and implement nursing plans, and document changes accurately
• Administer medications and treatments safely and in accordance with hospital protocols
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care and optimize patient outcomes
• Educate patients and families on diagnosis, treatment plans, and post-discharge care
• Participate in competency testing and skills checklists to maintain high standards of care
• Safely handle infection control procedures, screenings, and required health checks

Qualifications

• Current, active Registered Nurse license (RN) in good standing
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• Experience or training in Medical-Surgical nursing (preferred)
• Successful completion of required health screenings: drug screen, fit test, immunizations as listed
• Ability to complete Trinity specialty-specific competency testing and skills checklist

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills for medical-surgical patients
• Familiarity with medication administration, IV care, and wound care
• Comfortable with EMR documentation and following facility protocols
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills for fast-paced unit collaboration
• Attention to detail for license/certification verification and compliance requirements
