Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based oncology nursing care in the medical oncology clinic
• Safely prepare, verify and administer chemotherapy and biotherapy per protocol
• Continuously monitor patients during infusions and promptly manage any adverse reactions
• Perform thorough patient assessments and triage changes in patient condition
• Educate patients and families about treatment plans, side-effect management, and symptom control
• Collaborate with oncologists, pharmacy, and the interdisciplinary team to optimize care
• Document accurately and timely in the electronic medical record
• Participate in quality improvement, safety initiatives, and infection-prevention practices

Qualifications

• Active Colorado RN license or compact RN license in good standing
• BLS (AHA Provider) current
• Oncology Nursing Society Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Provider Card required
• Minimum of two years of oncology nursing experience
• Flu vaccine required (proof requested with submission)
• Please include skills sheet, resume, RN license/certifications, BLS, and proof of flu vaccine with application

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong oncology nursing knowledge, including chemotherapy and biotherapy administration
• Assessment skills for infusion patients and symptom management
• Familiarity with infusion pumps, IV access care, and safe handling of hazardous drugs
• Excellent patient education and communication skills with patients and families
• Comfortable working in an ambulatory clinic/infusion setting and collaborating with the care team
• Accurate charting and attention to detail for medication safety and regulatory compliance
