Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms 2 times per shift and document findings accurately
• Provide high-quality nursing care for adult to geriatric med-tele and cardiac patients
• Use EPIC confidently to chart, review orders, and communicate patient status
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to create safe, effective patient plans
• Maintain reliable attendance and professional conduct on a patient-oriented unit
• Follow department expectations for telemetry measurement, documentation, and escalation
• Complete required compliance and onboarding steps promptly to ensure uninterrupted assignment

Qualifications

• Active New York RN license (temporary Health Care Service Agency registration certificate required for submission)
• Minimum 3 years of RN experience (required)
• EPIC experience - MUST HAVE (required)
• Current ACLS (AHA) and BLS (AHA) certifications (required)
• Strong telemetry/med-tele and cardiac monitoring experience (required)
• Own vehicle and reliable transportation (required)
• Recent supervisory signed reference within the past 2 years (required)
• 14-panel drug screen capability within 24 hours of offer acceptance (compliance requirement)
• Welle or CPI verbal de-escalation training completed for onboarding (required as of 1/1/2024)
• Previous travel nurse experience and neuro/stroke experience are highly preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency in cardiac rhythm interpretation and telemetry monitoring
• Confidence using EPIC for clinical documentation and workflow
• Strong assessment skills for adult and geriatric medical-surgical patients
• Ability to follow strict unit protocols and compliance requirements
• Excellent communication and teamwork on a fast-paced remote telemetry unit
• Attention to detail for license/certification/profile documentation and address validation
• Verbal de-escalation skills (Welle or CPI)
