Candidate Pay Rate: $51 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care and skilled nursing interventions as a Licensed Vocational Nurse
- Administer medications, monitor vitals, and document patient status accurately
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to support individualized care plans
- Assist with admissions, discharges, and transfers while maintaining patient safety
- Support infection control, security protocols, and facility policies in a correctional setting
- Participate in orientation and training, helping maintain a high standard of clinical practice
Qualifications
- Active California Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license required
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification recommended
- Comfortable and professional working in a correctional healthcare environment
- Strong clinical assessment, medication administration, and documentation skills
- Clear background check and ability to meet facility clearance requirements
- Previous experience as an LVN preferred but new grads from accredited programs are welcome
Education
- Graduate of an accredited Vocational Nursing program
- Completion of required state LVN licensure prerequisites
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid understanding of medical-surgical nursing principles
- Medication administration and accurate charting
- Patient assessment and early recognition of clinical changes
- Effective communication with patients, peers, and security staff
- Basic emergency response and infection control practices
- Time management and prioritization in a fast-paced environment
