Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and deliver high-quality nursing care to adult-geriatric telemetry/cardiac patients
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms regularly and document measurements per department expectations (rhythm checks 2×/shift)
• Operate EPIC for charting and care coordination with accuracy and timeliness
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and execute individualized patient care plans
• Respond to patient changes promptly and escalate concerns to providers when needed
• Educate patients and families about cardiac conditions, medications, and self-care before discharge
• Maintain compliance with facility onboarding requirements, drug screening, and licensing documentation

Qualifications

• Current New York Registered Nurse license (required)
• New York Temporary Health Care Service Agency License/Registration Certificate must be uploaded up front (required)
• ACLS (AHA) current (required)
• BLS (AHA) current (required)
• Minimum 3 years of RN experience (required)
• Strong EPIC experience (MUST HAVE) and prior telemetry/med-tele experience (required)
• Comfortable interpreting, measuring, and documenting cardiac rhythms twice per shift
• Own vehicle/driver (required)
• Reliable attendance record with no recent call-out concerns
• Welle or CPI verbal de-escalation training completed for onboarding (required as of 1/1/2024); travelers must provide proof

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency with EPIC electronic health record
• Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation
• Med-Tele and cardiac nursing best practices
• Familiarity with neuro/stroke care (highly preferred)
• Ability to meet stringent compliance requirements (drug screen, license upload, permanent address verification)
• Strong communication and patient-centered bedside manner
• De-escalation techniques (Welle or CPI) for behavioral safety
