Roles & Responsibilities
- Score and interpret home and attended sleep studies accurately and timely to support patient care
- Schedule patients and provide clear, compassionate instructions for home sleep testing
- Perform mask fittings and troubleshoot PAP equipment to ensure optimal therapy
- Conduct MSLTs when experienced and as needed to support diagnostic needs
- Make patient follow-up calls and document findings in the medical record
- Maintain and submit a current Sleep Tech / Polysomnographer Skills Checklist and certifications
- Train and mentor new techs on assignment when asked, helping build a stronger team
- Adhere to safety, infection control, and facility policies while delivering excellent patient care
Qualifications
- Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) — required (verification requested)
- Active American Heart Association BLS — required (document required)
- Minimum 2+ years of Sleep Technologist / Polysomnographer experience — required
- Sleep Tech / Polysomnographer Skills Checklist current within the past year — required
- One supervisory signed reference from the past year of employment — required
- Associates Degree in Polysomnography or Allied Health — highly preferred
- Previous travel assignment experience — highly preferred
- Willingness to train new techs while on assignment is a plus
- Permanent address must be included in submission materials
Education
- Associate's Degree in Polysomnography or Allied Health (highly preferred)
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong polysomnography knowledge and sleep study scoring expertise
- Comfortable with both home sleep testing and attended studies
- Skilled at patient instruction, mask fitting, and PAP troubleshooting
- Familiarity with MSLT procedures (preferred but not required)
- Excellent scheduling, communication, and patient-relations skills
- Accurate documentation practices and familiarity with clinical workflows
- Ability to work independently in a small critical access hospital setting
