Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality therapeutic interventions under PT supervision to help patients regain function
- Assist patients with mobility, transfers, gait training and individualized exercise programs
- Document patient progress and maintain accurate, timely treatment records
- Collaborate with nurses, therapists and other team members to coordinate care plans
- Educate patients and families on home exercise programs, safety and fall prevention
- Ensure treatment areas and equipment are safe, clean and ready for patient care
- Advocate for patients’ functional goals and contribute to a positive rehab environment
Qualifications
- Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant in California or eligible to obtain licensure prior to start
- Completion of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program (Associate degree or equivalent)
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced inpatient/rehab setting and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team
- Available to begin the 13-week assignment starting 2026-01-19 through 2026-04-18
Education
- Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong clinical skills in therapeutic exercise, transfers and gait training
- Familiarity with adaptive equipment and basic modalities used in rehab
- Accurate documentation skills and experience with electronic medical records
- Excellent communication, patient education and interpersonal skills
- Ability to prioritize caseloads and work efficiently while maintaining quality care
