Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound exams in radiology with attention to patient safety and comfort
• Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment, ensuring images meet facility and physician standards
• Collaborate with radiologists and clinical teams to review findings and support timely care
• Document procedures and maintain accurate patient records in the electronic medical record
• Provide clear explanations to patients, addressing concerns and ensuring a compassionate experience
• Adhere to infection control, radiation safety, and facility protocols at all times
• Assist with workflow improvements and contribute positively to the imaging team

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of clinical ultrasound/sonography experience (explicit requirement)
• Current RDMS/ARDMS certification preferred
• Current BLS/CPR certification or ability to obtain upon hire
• Relevant state licensure if required by the facility
• Strong patient care skills, professionalism, and reliable attendance
• Ability to lift and position patients as needed and stand for extended periods

Education

• Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography or Ultrasound program
• Associate degree or post-secondary certificate in sonography or related field preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of abdominal, OB/GYN, vascular, and general sonographic techniques
• Proficiency with ultrasound equipment, transducers, and image optimization
• Familiarity with PACS/DICOM and electronic medical record systems
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients and multidisciplinary teams
• Strong attention to detail and ability to produce diagnostic-quality images
• Good clinical judgment and ability to follow physician protocols
