Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform thorough patient assessments and develop, implement, evaluate, and revise individualized respiratory care plans
• Conduct diagnostic testing including arterial blood gases (ABG), pulmonary function tests (PFT), EKGs, cardiac monitoring, bronchoscopy assistance, and pulse oximetry
• Operate and troubleshoot respiratory therapy equipment and ensure safe patient transport within and between facilities
• Document care accurately and timely in EPIC and other electronic medical records
• Provide on-call coverage and flexible support outside standard hours when needed
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes and continuity of care

Qualifications

• Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) via NBRC required; RRT credential accepted where applicable
• Current state Respiratory Therapy license (must be able to submit license)
• BLS (AHA), ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications required or upon hire per facility expectations
• Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience (posting lists 2 years; 1 year is noted as preferred in some notes)
• Prior experience with EPIC or other EMR systems preferred
• Ability to provide on-call coverage outside scheduled hours and work flexible shifts
• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet a 60-mile radius requirement for submission and orientation

Education

• Completion of an accredited Respiratory Therapy Education Program (CoARC, JRCRTE, or CAAHEP)

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient assessment and care plan development

• Cardiac monitoring and pulse oximetry
• Bronchoscopy support and acute care respiratory interventions
• Safe patient transport procedures
