Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-quality emergency nursing care for patients presenting to the ER
- Assess, triage and prioritize patient needs quickly and accurately in a fast-paced environment
- Administer medications, treatments and interventions following established protocols
- Collaborate with physicians, allied health staff and long-term care team members to coordinate patient care
- Monitor and document patient status and changes thoroughly in the medical record
- Support the acute care unit when census requires, ensuring safe staffing for 5 acute care beds and two ER bays
- Participate in unit-based quality improvement and infection prevention practices
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (state requirements or compact license as applicable)
- ER experience — comfortable working in an emergency department and acute care setting
- Experience with 12-hour night shifts and independent decision-making in small critical access settings
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
- Strong assessment, triage and critical thinking skills
- Professional, reliable, and able to work independently in a small-team environment
Education
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)

- Triage and emergency assessment skills
- Acute care nursing and ER workflow familiarity
- Medication administration and IV therapy
- Patient monitoring and critical observation
- Clear communication and teamwork in a small facility
- Accurate clinical documentation and charting practices
