Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality emergency nursing care for patients presenting to the ER
• Assess, triage and prioritize patient needs quickly and accurately in a fast-paced environment
• Administer medications, treatments and interventions following established protocols
• Collaborate with physicians, allied health staff and long-term care team members to coordinate patient care
• Monitor and document patient status and changes thoroughly in the medical record
• Support the acute care unit when census requires, ensuring safe staffing for 5 acute care beds and two ER bays
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement and infection prevention practices

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (state requirements or compact license as applicable)
• ER experience — comfortable working in an emergency department and acute care setting
• Experience with 12-hour night shifts and independent decision-making in small critical access settings
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
• Strong assessment, triage and critical thinking skills
• Professional, reliable, and able to work independently in a small-team environment

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)

• Triage and emergency assessment skills
• Acute care nursing and ER workflow familiarity
• Medication administration and IV therapy
• Patient monitoring and critical observation
• Clear communication and teamwork in a small facility
• Accurate clinical documentation and charting practices
