Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, comprehensive nursing care to long-term care residents during the night shift
- Perform resident assessments and monitor changes in condition, escalating concerns promptly
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and document thoroughly in the chart
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to implement individualized care plans
- Respond to emergent situations, initiate interventions, and coordinate transfers as needed
- Advocate for resident comfort, dignity, and quality of life through person-centered care
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation and ensure compliance with facility policies
- Support admissions, discharges, and transitions during night hours with clear communication
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure — Montana license or compact eligibility preferred
- Experience or comfort working in Long Term Care (LTC) settings
- Comfort with and availability for night shift schedule (5:45 PM - 6:15 AM)
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required or obtained upon hire
- Ability to independently secure local housing for the contract period
Education
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills in a long-term care context
- Medication administration and documentation accuracy
- Familiarity with LTC care plans, ADLs, and chronic condition management
- Clear communication with residents, families, and the interdisciplinary team
- Time management and prioritization on busy night shifts
- Comfort functioning in a rural Critical Access Hospital environment
