Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic ultrasound exams with care and precision to support patient diagnosis
- Operate and maintain sonography equipment, ensuring images meet clinical standards
- Collaborate with radiologists and the care team to deliver timely, high-quality imaging
- Document procedures accurately in the patient record and adhere to departmental protocols
- Provide patient-centered communication and comfort throughout exams
- Adhere to safety and infection control practices to protect patients and staff
- Assist with unit workflow and support colleagues during busy periods
Qualifications
- Certification or registry in diagnostic medical sonography preferred (e.g., ARDMS or ARRT(S)) — be proud of your credential
- Valid state licensure or eligibility to obtain licensure in New Hampshire
- Clinical sonography experience in a hospital or outpatient imaging setting preferred
- Comfortable performing a range of ultrasound exams and adapting to varying caseloads
- Strong patient communication skills and professional bedside manner
- Ability to pass facility onboarding requirements and background checks
Education
- Associate degree or certificate in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or a related allied health field
- Completion of an accredited sonography program preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient with abdominal, OB/GYN, vascular, and general sonographic techniques
- Familiarity with PACS and electronic documentation systems
- Skilled at producing high-quality diagnostic images and recognizing artifacts
- Good organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple patients
- Strong interpersonal skills for collaborating with radiologists and clinical staff
- Basic troubleshooting and routine equipment maintenance knowledge
