Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic ultrasound exams with care and precision to support patient diagnosis
• Operate and maintain sonography equipment, ensuring images meet clinical standards
• Collaborate with radiologists and the care team to deliver timely, high-quality imaging
• Document procedures accurately in the patient record and adhere to departmental protocols
• Provide patient-centered communication and comfort throughout exams
• Adhere to safety and infection control practices to protect patients and staff
• Assist with unit workflow and support colleagues during busy periods

Qualifications

• Certification or registry in diagnostic medical sonography preferred (e.g., ARDMS or ARRT(S)) — be proud of your credential
• Valid state licensure or eligibility to obtain licensure in New Hampshire
• Clinical sonography experience in a hospital or outpatient imaging setting preferred
• Comfortable performing a range of ultrasound exams and adapting to varying caseloads
• Strong patient communication skills and professional bedside manner
• Ability to pass facility onboarding requirements and background checks

Education

• Associate degree or certificate in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or a related allied health field
• Completion of an accredited sonography program preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient with abdominal, OB/GYN, vascular, and general sonographic techniques
• Familiarity with PACS and electronic documentation systems
• Skilled at producing high-quality diagnostic images and recognizing artifacts
• Good organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple patients
• Strong interpersonal skills for collaborating with radiologists and clinical staff
• Basic troubleshooting and routine equipment maintenance knowledge
