Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic ultrasound exams with accuracy and compassion
- Prepare and position patients and explain procedures clearly to ease anxiety
- Acquire high-quality images for radiologist interpretation
- Collaborate with radiologists and the care team to support patient diagnoses
- Maintain imaging equipment and ensure proper infection control and safety
- Document procedures and findings promptly and accurately in the medical record
- Provide excellent patient care while managing time efficiently in a busy environment
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of ultrasound/sonography experience
- Previous experience as an Ultrasound Tech or Sonographer in radiology
- Current state licensure or certification as required by North Carolina (verify local requirements)
- Registry certification (e.g., RDMS/ARDMS) preferred where applicable
- Strong patient care skills and ability to work collaboratively with clinical teams
Education
- Completion of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography/Ultrasound program
- High school diploma or equivalent
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficiency in diagnostic ultrasound and sonography techniques
- Familiarity with radiology workflow and imaging protocols
- Good patient communication and positioning skills
- Attention to detail for image quality and accurate documentation
- Basic equipment troubleshooting and maintenance awareness
