Roles & Responsibilities
- Carry out treatment plans established by the supervising PT to help patients regain mobility and independence
- Deliver therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance activities, and appropriate modalities
- Observe, document, and report patient performance and progress to the supervising PT
- Educate patients and families on therapy goals and home exercise programs for continued recovery
- Maintain accurate, compliant documentation following state, federal, and company guidelines
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary staff to coordinate care and support positive patient outcomes
Qualifications
- Active and current Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license in the state of practice (required)
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
- Previous experience working in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) required
- Strong clinical and communication skills to interact effectively with patients and the care team
- Demonstrated ability to follow treatment plans and deliver high-quality patient care
Education
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in therapeutic exercise progression and gait training techniques
- Knowledge of balance training and use of common modalities as appropriate
- Comfortable observing, documenting, and communicating clinical progress
- Able to educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs
- Team-oriented approach to working with nurses, PTs, and other interdisciplinary staff
