Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct patient care including bathing, grooming, and ambulation assistance
• Take and record vital signs accurately and report changes to the nursing team
• Assist with feeding, toileting, and mobility while promoting patient dignity and independence
• Support safe transfers and positioning to prevent falls and pressure injuries
• Communicate clearly with nurses and interdisciplinary staff about patient needs and status
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control procedures
• Document care activities promptly and accurately in the patient record
• Build rapport with residents and family members, offering comfort and reassurance

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification in the state of Pennsylvania (required)
• Valid CPR/BLS certification (preferred or required depending on facility)
• Demonstrated ability to provide patient-centered care with empathy and professionalism
• Proof of required immunizations and background checks per facility policy
• Comfort with lifting and assisting patients; ability to work a physical role on your feet
• Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a care team

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completed state-approved CNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Basic nursing care techniques and ADL assistance
• Vital sign measurement and documentation
• Safe patient handling and transfer procedures
• Infection prevention and standard precautions
• Observational skills to notice subtle changes in condition
• Teamwork, time management, and compassionate bedside manner
