Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents as a Certified Nursing Assistant
- Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding
- Monitor and record vital signs and report any changes to the nursing team
- Support mobility and safe transfers while encouraging independence
- Document care activities accurately and communicate effectively with the care team
- Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection prevention practices
- Build trusting relationships with residents and families to enhance quality of life
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or T-CNA certification (active or eligible in New Mexico)
- Comfortable working the required schedule: Thursday, Friday, Saturday — 6:00 AM - 6:30 PM
- Ability to perform direct patient care tasks and lift/transfers as required
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
- Previous experience in a long-term care or acute care setting is a plus
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred; completion of a state-approved CNA program and current CNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Patient-centered care and basic clinical skills (vitals, ADL assistance)
- Safe resident handling and transfer techniques
- Infection control and proper PPE use
- Accurate documentation and charting
- Compassionate communication with residents, families, and colleagues
- Ability to follow care plans and escalation protocols
