Roles & Responsibilities
- Evaluate patients to determine occupational therapy needs and set meaningful, measurable goals
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that improve daily living and functional independence
- Collaborate with nurses, physicians and therapists to coordinate patient-centered care
- Document patient progress and modify plans based on outcomes and changing needs
- Educate patients and families on adaptive strategies, home programs and community resources
- Support facility initiatives and contribute to a positive, team-first culture
Qualifications
- Active Occupational Therapist license in North Carolina or eligibility to obtain state licensure
- Graduate degree in Occupational Therapy (Master's or OTD) preferred
- Current CPR certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
- Comfortable working in a skilled nursing/long term care setting and adaptable to a travel assignment
- Preferred: 1+ year(s) of clinical experience in rehabilitation or geriatric care
- Strong communication skills and reliable documentation practices
Education
- Master of Occupational Therapy (MOT), MSOT, or Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD)
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in patient assessment, ADL training and adaptive equipment recommendations
- Proficient with treatment planning, progress notes and electronic charting
- Knowledge of therapeutic modalities, splinting basics and functional mobility techniques
- Ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams and families
- Good time management and caseload prioritization skills
