Location: Brooklyn Park, Maryland
Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM NOC (night shift; specific days to be scheduled with facility)
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $20 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, person-centered care to geriatric residents and help maintain their dignity
- Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Perform routine vital signs checks and report any changes to the nursing team promptly
- Document resident conditions and care provided accurately and timely
- Support mobility and safe transfer techniques to prevent falls and injuries
- Communicate clearly and kindly with residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members
- Follow infection control protocols and facility policies to keep residents safe
- Participate in care planning meetings and contribute observations that improve resident outcomes
Qualifications
- Active GNA certification (required)
- Current BLS/CPR certification (preferred or obtain upon hire)
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Experience working with older adults or in long-term care settings is a plus
- Ability to pass background checks, TB screening, and required immunizations
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent; GNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of geriatric care principles and common age-related conditions
- Skilled in ADLs assistance, safe transfers, and fall prevention
- Ability to take and accurately record vital signs
- Knowledge of infection control and medication safety basics
- Comfortable with electronic charting or paper documentation systems
- Good time management, observation skills, and compassionate bedside manner
