Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide expert, compassionate nursing care in the electrophysiology cath lab for procedures like PFA, SVT and PVCs
- Prepare patients, equipment and the procedural suite to maintain a safe, sterile environment
- Assist physicians and the procedural team during cardiac catheterization and EP procedures
- Continuously monitor and interpret patient hemodynamics and cardiac rhythms throughout procedures
- Document accurate patient data and procedure details using Merge EMR and MACLAB
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to ensure efficient patient flow and optimal outcomes
- Educate patients and families about procedures, peri-procedural care and discharge instructions
- Adhere to unit policies and evidence based practices to promote high quality care
Qualifications
- Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license (eligible to practice in Texas)
- Minimum 1 year of relevant nursing experience (experience in cath lab or EP strongly preferred)
- Experience or familiarity with MACLAB and Merge EMR is a plus
- Comfort working 12-hour day shifts and being part of a close procedural team
- Outgoing, adaptable personality with strong communication and teamwork skills
Education
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Associate or BSN preferred)
- Active RN license; facility will provide unit guidelines and orientation upon start
Knowledge & Skills
- Clinical knowledge of electrophysiology and cardiac catheterization procedures
- Familiarity with MACLAB and Merge EMR for charting and procedure documentation
- Proficient patient monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation during procedures
- Strong aseptic technique and procedural room preparation skills
- Excellent communication, prioritization and multitasking in a fast paced environment
- Ability to work collaboratively with physicians, techs and other nursing staff
