Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide advanced critical care nursing for ICU patients, maintaining high standards of safety and compassion
• Manage ventilators and advanced respiratory support (high-flow, BiPAP, CPAP) to optimize patient breathing
• Administer IV medications including vasopressors, inotropes, sedatives, analgesics and titrate per protocol
• Perform hemodynamic monitoring and manage PA catheters to support complex cardiovascular care
• Participate in procedures such as intubation support, chest tube management, line insertion and assist with bronchoscopy/EGD/colonoscopy
• Operate and troubleshoot ICU equipment including CRRT, rapid infusers, cooling devices, and IV pumps
• Document care accurately in Meditech and communicate effectively with the multidisciplinary team
• Advocate for patients and families, educating and supporting them through high-acuity care

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) — active license required
• Minimum 2 years of ICU or critical care experience (patient experience requirement >2 years in ICU-level unit)
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications (required)
• Demonstrated experience with ventilator management, vasopressors/inotropes, sedation/analgesia
• Advanced skills in TTM, hemodynamics and PA catheter management preferred
• Comfortable assisting with or supporting invasive procedures (intubation, chest tubes, line insertion, bronchoscopy)
• Experience with Meditech or similar electronic documentation systems

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of ventilator modes and settings, weaning protocols and respiratory support devices
• Skill managing IV medications and titratable vasoactive drips safely
• Proficiency with hemodynamic monitoring and interpretation of invasive pressure tracings
• Familiarity with CRRT operation and troubleshooting
• Competence using ICU equipment: rapid infusers, cooling systems (Artic Sun, cooling blankets), SCD machines and glucometers
• Excellent clinical judgment, prioritization and teamwork in high-acuity settings
• Clear communication and patient/family education skills
