Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality PCU/IMC patient care with professionalism and compassion
• Manage ventilators and advanced respiratory support, including high-flow oxygen, BiPAP and CPAP
• Monitor telemetry and progressive care patients, quickly recognizing and escalating changes in condition
• Administer and monitor IV medications and vasoactive infusions, following protocols to ensure patient safety
• Perform thorough documentation in Meditech to maintain accurate, timely patient records
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Support unit efficiency by assisting with admissions, discharges and safe patient handoffs
• Adhere to unit guidelines, infection control and safety policies while mentoring peers and float staff

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (required for practice)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience; greater than 1 year in IMC/PCU or progressive care level preferred
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications (required)
• Demonstrated experience with ventilator management and progressive care/telemetry patients
• Comfortable administering IV medications and working with infusion pumps
• Ability to float to IMC and Medical Telemetry as needed and work weekend nights per the schedule
• Strong clinical judgment, communication skills and ability to work independently on a busy unit

Education

• Active RN license (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Ventilator management and respiratory support (high-flow oxygen, BiPAP, CPAP)
• Telemetry/progressive care monitoring and patient assessment
• IV medication administration and familiarity with vasoactive agents
• Experience with Meditech electronic documentation
• Use of IV infusion pumps, SCD machines, cooling blankets and glucometers
• Ability to work effectively with varied staffing (no CNA/unit secretaries) and maintain safe patient ratios
• Familiarity with PCU/IMC workflows and interdisciplinary collaboration
