Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality diagnostic radiographic exams across ED/Trauma, portable settings, and the OR
• Operate portable X-ray equipment safely and efficiently at the bedside
• Collaborate with ED, OR, and trauma teams to prioritize timely imaging for critical patients
• Ensure accurate patient identification, positioning, and radiation safety for every exam
• Document studies and patient interactions clearly in Cerner and departmental records
• Maintain imaging equipment, troubleshoot basic issues, and report technical concerns
• Provide compassionate patient care and effective communication to patients and families
• Participate in unit-based initiatives to improve workflow and patient outcomes

Qualifications

• ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification required
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of radiologic technologist experience, with ED/Trauma and portable X-ray experience preferred
• Experience with OR imaging and sterile/aseptic protocols highly desirable
• Arizona radiology license preferred (having AZ license in hand is a plus)
• Comfortable working evening and night rotations, including assigned weekends
• Excellent patient care, communication skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced acute setting

Education

• Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program (Associate degree or equivalent preferred)
• Completion of clinical competencies required for ARRT registration

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong working knowledge of diagnostic radiology principles and patient positioning
• Proficient with portable X-ray technique and bedside imaging workflows
• Familiarity with Cerner charting and electronic imaging documentation
• Understanding of radiation safety, infection control, and OR imaging protocols
• Ability to prioritize in trauma/ED situations and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
• Basic equipment troubleshooting and maintenance awareness
