Shift Type: Monday-Friday, primary evening shifts 1:00 PM - 9:30 PM or 11:00 AM - 9:30 PM (8- or 10-hour evening shifts); other common shifts include 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM, 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM and 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM; shifts are negotiable and may rotate; call requirement 4-7 days/month with 60-minute response (30 minutes preferred).

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, expert pre-op and post-op care for patients undergoing left/right heart caths, complex PCI, electrophysiology, interventional radiology and peripheral vascular procedures
• Continuously monitor cardiac status using central monitoring and intervene promptly when needed
• Perform and assist with ultrasound-guided IV starts and support SWAT IV team protocols
• Accurately document care in EPIC and manage medication dispensing via PYXIS
• Collaborate with cardiologists, RT, pharmacy and interdisciplinary teams for 24/7 patient support
• Respond to codes and urgent events with calm, decisive action and excellent teamwork
• Serve as a reliable on-call responder per unit expectations (60-minute response time, 30-minute preferred)
• Support a safe, efficient recovery unit environment and contribute to continuous improvement efforts

Qualifications

• Current WA RN license or Compact RN license (must be able to submit license)
• BLS and ACLS (AHA) required; NIHSS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience (cardiac, cath lab, or procedural recovery experience preferred)
• Comfortable charting in EPIC and using PYXIS medication systems
• Familiarity with cardiac monitoring, telemetry and cath lab workflows
• Ability to fulfill on-call requirements and respond within required timeframe
• ARRT, electrophysiology, PCI or interventional radiology experience is a plus
• Charge nurse and code response experience a strong plus

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Diploma in Nursing; BSN preferred but not required
• Active RN license (WA or Compact) required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong cardiac monitoring and telemetry interpretation skills
• Experience with cath lab pre/post recovery protocols and procedures
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical records and PYXIS workflows
• Skilled in ultrasound-guided IV starts and working with IV/SWAT teams
• Effective communication and interdisciplinary collaboration
• Calm, decisive action during codes and emergency situations
• Ability to manage high case volumes in a busy, multimodality lab
