Shift Type: Primarily nights, 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM; schedule includes 4 weekend shifts per 4-week cycle and holiday coverage (3 of 6 main holidays); may float to MedSurg or MICU as needed
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $60 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to critically ill adult patients in the ICU and MOSU
- Manage vasoactive drips and advanced hemodynamic monitoring, adjusting care per protocol
- Operate and manage ventilators and participate in ventilator weaning per protocol
- Interpret EKGs and monitor telemetry using Phillips systems to detect and intervene on dysrhythmias
- Perform and maintain sterile technique for central line dressing changes and Foley catheter insertion, passing SIMs Lab competencies
- Document patient care accurately and timely in the Cerner EMR
- Collaborate closely with physicians, RT, pharmacy, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
- Float to MedSurg or downtown ICU when needed and adapt to varying patient acuity levels
Qualifications
- Active RN license eligible for practice in Arizona
- Minimum of 2 years of recent ICU or combined Medical-Surgical critical care experience
- BLS and ACLS certifications required prior to start
- Comfortable with vasoactive drips, ventilator management, and interpreting EKGs
- Competency in sterile technique, central line care, and Foley catheter insertion (SIMs Lab pass required)
- Experience with Cerner EMR preferred
- Reliable transportation; travel teams must have their own vehicle
- Positive attitude, strong teamwork skills, and ability to work independently when staffing is limited
Education
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- BSN preferred but not required
- Required certifications: BLS and ACLS
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong critical thinking and rapid assessment skills for high-acuity patients
- Knowledge of hemodynamic monitoring and vasoactive medication titration
- Ventilator management and weaning protocols
- Telemetry interpretation and basic dysrhythmia recognition
- Familiarity with procedures such as central line care, intubation assistance, bronchoscopy care, thoracentesis, and paracentesis
- Ability to document clearly in Cerner and communicate across the care team
- Comfort with floating between units and adapting to different workflows and patient populations
