Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM and 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM; rotating day/night coverage with 2 weekends required per 4 weeks and alternating major holidays
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $79 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality critical care to ICU patients, managing complex conditions such as sepsis, DKA, COPD exacerbations and post-PCI care
- Operate within a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio to closely monitor and respond to patient needs
- Manage ventilator-supported patients in collaboration with respiratory therapy and follow the ABCDE bundle
- Administer and titrate medications including vasoactive drips and sedation under established protocols
- Interpret cardiac telemetry strips and respond to rhythm changes with sound clinical judgment
- Float to telemetry and med-surg units as needed and accept full patient loads when assigned
- Document accurately and timely in the Cerner EMR and participate in unit-based handoffs and interdisciplinary rounds
- Act as a patient advocate, educate families, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse licensure (license to submit is required)
- Minimum 2 years of ICU/critical care nursing experience
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS required
- CCRN and basic critical care course preferred
- Strong IV skills and comfort with advanced IV therapies
- Experience with ventilator management and working with RT teams
- Ability and willingness to float to telemetry and med-surg floors and to take a full patient load
- Comfortable working with Cerner electronic charting
Education
- Nursing diploma, ADN or BSN accepted (BSN not required)
Knowledge & Skills
- Critical care principles including hemodynamic monitoring and vasoactive medication management
- Ventilator basics and collaboration with respiratory therapy for ventilator management
- Cardiac telemetry interpretation and post-PCI patient care
- ABCDE bundle implementation and ICU best practices
- Proficiency with Cerner EMR for charting and medication administration
- Management of PN, DKA/hyperglycemia, GI bleeds, and sedation protocols (propofol, versed)
- Strong IV insertion/maintenance skills and working with IV teams
- Comfort in a fast-paced acute care environment with floating responsibilities
