Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and manage MedSurg Neuro patients with compassion and clinical precision
• Provide post-operative care and monitor patients recovering from neurosurgery
• Titrate and manage IV drips including heparin, lidocaine, and ketamine according to protocol
• Manage PCA pumps and other titratable therapies safely and effectively
• Perform thorough patient assessments and respond to changes in condition
• Document accurately and efficiently in EPIC to ensure continuity of care
• Collaborate with charge nurses, tele/monitor techs, and patient care techs to coordinate safe patient flow
• Conduct hourly rounding and prioritize responsiveness to patient needs
• Support admissions and discharges while managing the business of the day with a team-focused approach
• Respect and serve a culturally diverse patient population with sensitivity and professionalism

Qualifications

• Active RN license eligible for submission
• Minimum 2 years of recent nursing experience (MedSurg/Telemetry experience preferred)
• BLS (AHA) certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• Driver's license required at time of submission (used to confirm radius eligibility)
• Travel nursing experience preferred but strong local candidates will be considered
• Clear background and licensing record (no license or background hits)

Education

• Active RN license (required)
• BSN not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong MedSurg and telemetry nursing knowledge, including stroke/neuro patient care
• Skill in IV infusion and drip management, including titration protocols
• Comfort with PCA pumps and post-operative care workflows
• Familiarity with EPIC charting and clinical documentation best practices
• Telemonitoring awareness and the ability to correlate monitoring with bedside assessment
• Experience working with mechanical lifts and safe patient handling
• Cultural competence and experience serving diverse populations (Spanish, Karen, Burmese noted)
• Excellent teamwork, time management, and prioritization in high-admission/discharge environments
